We save animals

In Chile we have a serious domestic animal (dogs and cats) overpopulation problem in the streets, which entails severe consequences such as traffic accidents, health expenses and work absenteeism due to bites and diseases, garbage spread in the streets, a bad country image, among others. There are no public policies to take care of the problem comprehensively and with a long-term vision, therefore thousands of animals suffer from hunger, disease, abandonment and mistreatment.
This is why Fundación Garras y Patas was born: as a dream to give a second chance to those sad eyes we saw day by day around our streets. We realized that the same dream was shared by a big part of our community, so our job is also to educate and involve people and businesses through social networks and other means, getting them to be part of the solution with diverse opportunities to cooperate in order to achieve our goals. This is how day by day we carry out more rescues, recoveries and find new families to our rescued dogs and cats.

Solve Chile’s serious problem of abandoned pets overpopulation by rescuing, recovering and relocating them, performing massive sterilizations, educating and involving the community so they become part of the solution.

When the daughters of the Moreno-Orellana family were four and five years old respectively, their parents came home with a stray puppy: it was their first rescue as a family. Twenty years and almost 300 rescues later they decided to create a non-profit Organization by adding people committed to the idea, undertaking and innovating always to achieve higher goals and involving the community to be part of the solution.
