HOME
TO A STREET DOG

02
Do I need to have resources to be a foster home?
You don't need any resources to become a foster home. If you have the space and the desire, Garras y Patas can fund your pet's food and medication while you care for it. Now, if you're able and willing to contribute by purchasing food and/or medication out of your own pocket, just let us know and it will be welcomed. Veterinary care is always covered by Garras y Patas, unless you also wish to contribute.
03
How long should I be a foster home?
This is relative; it depends on the dog or cat's age and physical characteristics. The younger and more similar the dog or cat is to one of the "desired" breeds, the shorter the adoption period.
The average is two months per dog and cat.
If you can foster for a shorter period of time, let us know, and we'll give you a puppy or kitten "for a specific period of time," tailored to your needs. Ideally, foster homes should commit to keeping the pet until it's adopted.
04
Who will find him a permanent home?
As a foundation, we will be responsible for promoting this project as widely as possible on social media and various websites. You can also help spread the word, including through activities such as teaching them to walk, socialize, and live in a home.
*The Foundation is not obligated to pay for food and medication for puppies or kittens that people choose to foster and that were NOT rescued by Garras y Patas. Financial assistance is available for these cases, as long as it is within the Foundation's budget.
